We hope that this helps and we are happy to answer any more that you have!We pride ourselves on being responsive and part of that is arranging a in-home assessment in a prompt manner. Our caregivers have diverse experience and attributes, as we focus on the perfect match it is important to have a diverse team. All of them have the required training and education in order to do the tasks in the care plan that we create with you.
Some of our team are even qualified nurses with credentials acquired abroad. But that is not the only type of care that we provide, so we also have care aides, community support workers, housekeepers, and companions. We know how important it is to have the right fit when someone is in your home, that’s why we are “just like family”.
A lot of our clients feel confident in providing care throughout the day, however they realize that for them to be at their best they need their own sleep and that some additional support overnight would be helpful. That’s where we come in!
We are able to support you in having peace of mind throughout the night. With caregivers present, we are able to support mobility and toileting in the middle of the night when there is a higher risk of falling. We also have a presence for individuals who are not able to sleep due to a number of reasons. It is often a comfort to have someone overnight, we even have people in hospital who hire us to have someone by their bedside when their family can’t be!
A lot of people have a negative perception about asking for support. However we have seen that having support early is a positive thing as it prevents clients from putting themselves at a fall risk or other danger due to trying to do everything on their own. We prefer to have a relationship with people before it because ‘required’ as the relationships that our families have with our caregivers can be quite profound.
An easy way to get started is always light housekeeping and meal prep. We like to say that we do the little things that make your life easier. Why not have someone support you in laundry, garbage, sweeping and mopping? If more care is needed, you will already have a care team around you that is supportive and proactive.
