Support for families
We’ve shared some of our most frequently asked questions about home care assistance in Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon, Orangeville & Georgetown to help you out.We have a 5-step approach to get to know each other and ensure that this is a great fit for you and your loved ones.
Step 1: We offer a complimentary In-Home Consultation to understand and address the needs, capabilities, and preferences of our clients.
Step 2: Based on this meeting, we create a “Care Plan” to establish care objectives.
Step 3: Once the Care Plan is finalized, we pair caregivers with clients based on their requests, preferences, requirements, and personalities.
Step 4: Continuous Care Evaluation is essential. Through our AxisCare app, clients can access care notes for their loved ones following each shift.
Step 5: We ensure ongoing satisfaction by regularly following up with our clients and their families.
We offer light housekeeping and check-ins for your loved ones starting at 4 hours minimum. This can be multiple times a week or even every 2 weeks.
For dedicated and consistent caregivers, we ask that our clients commit to a minimum of 3 days a week with a 4-hour minimum. This consistency ensures that our clients have the opportunity to develop trust with our caregivers. For many of our clients, it is beneficial to see a familiar face during each visit, fostering a sense of family and security for our clients.
If you are in a senior home or a long-term care facility, we can work with multiple residents to reduce these minimums. This flexible approach allows us to fill in the gaps, making sure no one is left without the proper care and support. Our team is committed to filling in the gaps and providing a seamless experience for all residents, guaranteeing they receive the highest standard of care possible.
We value the connections we make and strive to provide personalized care that goes beyond just the physical aspect.
At Just Like Family Home Care, we focus on:
Community Network & Collaboration: Just Like Family stands out as a home care provider with a network of organizations such as SE Health, Vision Loss Rehabilitation Canada, Pillway, LifeLine, and more. We provide resources to assist individuals on their aging journey at home. Our role involves guiding and facilitating connections with our partners for additional services beyond our scope.
Education: We invest in the education and skill development of all of our caregivers and Community Health Managers to ensure that our staff are equipped to handle various challenges and situations effectively. It is important for us to continue to educate ourselves through the different aspects of the aging journey. For example, our partner Vision Loss Rehabilitation Canada focuses on assisting individuals who are experiencing vision impairments. The education VLRC provides covers the different stages of vision loss and equips caregivers with the knowledge and skills needed to support individuals effectively. By understanding the stages of vision loss, caregivers can tailor their approach to meet the specific needs of each individual, promoting independence and enhancing their quality of life.
Transparency: By having access to care notes in real-time through the AxisCare client portal, family members can stay informed about the care their loved one is receiving and can collaborate more effectively with the caregiving team. This level of transparency not only fosters trust and peace of mind but also enables family members to be more actively involved in decision-making processes regarding their loved one’s care. With information readily available at their fingertips, family members can feel more empowered and supported in ensuring the well-being and comfort of their loved one.
Our dedicated team of caregivers is committed to providing compassionate and personalized care to individuals of all ages who require assistance in the comfort of their own homes.
