Hospital preparation: Planning your transportation to and from the hospital as well as what needs to be ready for your return. We can even be in the waiting room once your procedure is complete.
Hospital visits: Often when a spouse is in hospital, it is difficult to coordinate regular visits for the family. We can make that easier with transportation and companionship.
Just Like Family supported a 92-year old client by driving him to see his wife who was palliative in the facility. Watching him hold his wife’s hand and sing “You are my Sunshine” to her was so moving, and it was such an honour to be able to support him, otherwise he wouldn’t have had as many visits with his wife.
Home management: When a client went into the hospital, we made sure their home was cleaned and safe and made sure their pets were taken care of while they were away.
Post-hospitalization care: Come home to a clean and tidy home. We can even have a meal ready for you!
Our client who just got home after spending several months in the hospital craved lasagna made at his local pub. “They cook the noodles perfectly,” he said. A couple of days after finally going home, it was his birthday and we had to celebrate these two milestones by bringing him lasagna and cupcakes made by his Just Like Family Wellness Caregiver.
