OwnerKaren knew that Just Like Family would be the perfect fit and opportunity to really help and support clients and families on the aging journey. Her entire life and career has been centered around helping people in one capacity or another. Her father’s career was in long-term care facility management, so her passion for seniors started at a young age being a candy-striper after school. Karen gained a wealth of knowledge and experience throughout her career that she freely shares with clients and families so that they can make informed decisions. From health-based charity management including hospice care and understanding of various care and funding models, management responsibilities locally and on a national level in seniors housing (independent living though transition levels), and providing direct in-home care for nearly 20 years to adults with disabilities under the Community Home model, Karen is passionate about people—client’s, families and caregivers, breaking down complexities, and identifying areas for quality of life.

From invoicing and split billing with the Client Directed Home Care Invoicing program, employee hiring and payroll, and even answering phone calls, Rick is a problem solver. “Rick is such a great guy” is what we hear from families who call asking for information and caregivers who have questions about our scheduling system. “I understand what siblings, families are going through as I am in the same situation with an aging parent. With a very creative background, a positive personality, and a love to make everyone laugh and smile, Stacy, connects with Calgary seniors groups and other community stakeholders who work with and support seniors on the aging journey.

Community Health ManagerMarimon is a dedicated healthcare professional with over two decades of experience. She began her career as a Registered Nurse in the Philippines in 2004. Transitioning to Calgary in 2009, she brought her expertise to the Canadian healthcare system. Marimon furthered her education by completing the Practical Nurse Program at Bow Valley College and obtained her Practical Nurse License in January 2024. She is currently preparing for the NCLEX exam to become a Registered Nurse in Alberta.
With over 15 years of experience in home care services, Marimon joined Just Like Family (JLF) in 2022. Marimon offers compassionate support to clients and their evolving healthcare needs. As Community Health Manager, Marimon oversees caregiver teams, provides comfort and end-of-life care, guides families through complex healthcare decisions, and liaises with our healthcare community. Her passion is for nursing and client/family care, ongoing professional development, trusted leadership skills, dedication to patient advocacy, and excellence in healthcare management.

Operations ManagerJanelle is a dedicated professional with a background in applied behavioural analysis, crisis management and 30 years of personal experience caring for family member with developmental disability. She acquired a Bachelors Degree of Science with an emphasis in Neuropsychology. Janelle has direct home care operation and management experience for residents with developmental and psychiatric disabilities. She offers compassionate support with a depth of understanding, providing everyone a space to be welcomed and treated like family.

Community Liaison & Home Care CoordinatorMichelle loves to learn and uses her knowledge and experience to provide support to those she works with.

Community Liaison & Home Care CoordinatorMichelle, who describes herself as a “lifelong learner” brings unique and vast experience to her role with Just Like Family Home Care Calgary. Besides owning her own business, she has her Medical Aesthetics Certification and has launched two retail locations in the field. She has her HCA (Health Care Aide) certification and has recently written a book on in-home care versus facility care. In her role, she connects with the healthcare community to promote our programs and services. She also supports our home care team in career training, compliance, and administration. She is a current volunteer with the Dementia Parks Planning Committee.
